Between 19 November 2006 and 9 January 2007, an outbreak of measles with 18 cases was reported in the region of Apulia in south-eastern Italy.

In March 2007, vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) was added to the recommended routine immunisation schedule in Germany. Primary immunisation is recommended for females aged 12 to 17.

In 2006, a total of 819,812 HIV tests were performed in the Czech Republic and 93 newly diagnosed HIV infections were reported, the highest number since 1985, when the HIV reporting system was established.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently published recommendations for the composition of influenza virus vaccines for the forthcoming season in the northern hemisphere (November 2007 to April 2008).
