An outbreak of trichinellosis is ongoing in Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship (West Pomerania), a province in north-western Poland bordering Germany, and has to date affected 201 people.

Since October 2006, the Spanish National Reference Laboratory has reported a series of isolations of Salmonella Kottbus on the island of Gran Canaria.
