Abstract

A vigilância da infecção meningocócica em Inglaterra e País de Gales assenta em três fontes de informação. Os médicos estão obrigados a fazer a notificação dos casos de meningite meningocócica diagnosticados clinicamente e, desde 1989, os de septicémia meningocócica (na ausência de meningite) para a autoridade local no controlo das doenças transmissíveis (CDCC).
